Mother's Day Plate
As a boy, the little brother of Berta Hummel, confided to his sister, how he had played hooky from school.
Setting out on a day filled with far more exciting pursuits than sitting in a classroom, he conceived the imaginative scheme
to say that the school had been quarantined. Berta painted this picture in later years to remind him of his escapade.
